Married Maurice Barnett who was born 7/18/1915, died 2/6/1999.
Veda Barnett of Shelley died at age 86 in the Bingham Extended Care Facility in Blackfoot. She was born at the family home in Taylor, the sixth of seven children born to Bertie and Eliza Jane Stoddard Wadsworth. On April 25, 1936, she and Maurice E. Barnett (1915-1999) were married at Taylor, Idaho; the marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. Temple, November 29, 1960.
She worked in California building airplanes during WWII, while her husband was in the service overseas. They moved to Shelley and opened up a café and farmed. Later she was a volunteer nurse at LDS Hospital, worked at J.C. Penny's, Mallory Dept. Store, RT French Co., and retired from Pillsbury.
As a young girl she played piano marvelously but did not pursue it. She loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, raising roses and gardening, horses, dances, and making a nice home for her family. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by daughter Vicki High and son Monte Barnett, both of Shelley; two brothers, Percey Wadsworth of West Valley, Utah, and Weldon Wadsworth of Idaho Falls; sister Doris Summers of Idaho Falls, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, husband, and three siblings, Luella, Verna, and Durlin.
