Betty A. Benzinger, 77, Kokomo, died at 4:38 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at North Woods Village. She was born July 4, 1934, in Kokomo, the daughter of Louise Benzinger.

Betty worked for the only Catholic extended care facility, Good Samaritan Home/St. Joseph Hospital, as a nursing assistant, retiring after 25 years of service. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and Kokomo Serra Club. She was active at St. Patrick as a greeter, reader, RCIA Catechist, office receptionist, Sacristan and St. Patrick Village of the Immaculata, through which members make a life-long consecration of their lives to Mary the Mother of God.

Betty is survived by all of her extended family, which includes the wonderful people who filled her life with meaning at St. Patrick Catholic Church; first cousins, Joe (Glynda) Crousore, David (Donna) Crousore, all of Kokomo, Chris (Anna) Crousore, Virginia, Paul R. (Sherry) Benzinger, Kokomo, and Steve Benzinger, Kokomo; second cousins, DeWayne (Karen) Richmond along with several other second cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother; grandparents, Anna and C.W. Benzinger; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Theodore Dudzinski the celebrant, and the Rev. Fr. Andrew Dudzinski, Rev. Fr. Joshua Bennett, Rev. Fr. David Huemmer and Rev. Fr. David Hasser the concelebrants. Burial will follow in Crown Point Cemetery.
