Elizabeth Fletcher Almon, 96, of Paducah, died Friday at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Benton, KY, Elizabeth was born May 5, 1915 to the late Andrew Jackson Fletcher and Dalton McGregor Fletcher. She was a homemaker, and was a member of Elgin United Methodist Church in Elgin, Alabama where she was a member of the U.M.W. Miss Almon was a devoted Christian woman and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed her life to the fullest. She is survived by her daughter, Jane D. Kimsey and husband Lew of Paducah; daughter-in-law, Lynretta Almon of Kevil; eight grandchildren, Leslie (Pete) Slankard, , Maria (Mike) Willis, Paul (Julie) Almon, Angela (Dean) Childers, Melody (Durand) Pugh, Noel (Bobbie) McElya, , Dina Kimsey, and Ian Kimsey; twenty-five great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Emmett Neal Almon; two sons, William Neal Almon and Jerry Lynn Almon; two sisters, Gladys Hunt and Sarah Bourland; a brother, John Fletcher; and her parents. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Monday at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Doug Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
