William "Bill" Afton Pulsipher

Troutdale resident William "Bill" Afton Pulsipher, 51, died Friday, Oct. 2, from a heart attack.

Visitation hours will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Gresham Stake, 3600 S.E. 182nd Ave., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Private interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.

Bill was born March 21, 1958, in Shreveport, La., to Keith Phillips and Sharon Dotson Pulsipher. He was raised in Vacaville, Calif., and graduated from Vacaville High School. He served in the Army and later attended Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University, where he earned a degree in robotics technology. In the 20 years he lived in Oregon, he resided in Portland, Gresham and Boring and in Troutdale for the past 13 years.

On Aug. 7, 1981, Bill married Bonnie Jean Franklin in Oakland, Calif.

Bill worked as a field service engineer. He was a member of the Latter-day Saints, a photography club and the Boy Scouts. His interests included genealogy and photography.

His sister, Laurie Pulsipher Baran, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Will A. Pulsipher III of DuPont, Wash., Brandon N. Pulsipher of Troutdale and Christian D. Pulsipher of Troutdale; daughter, Alexandra Pulsipher of Troutdale; mother, Sharon Pulsipher of Kent, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

Remembrances can be made to the William Pulsipher Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank branch.
