He was a member of East Market St. United Church of Christ and was a long-standing member of the Lake Milton Boat Club. He loved fishing, boating, and gardening. John was active with the Rubber City Kennel Club and the Boy Scouts of America.
John, 68, passed away the 19th of July 2014, after a courageous battle with heart disease.
John was born to Bertha A. and William R Baer. John was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Robert.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; sons, John R. (Kathleen) Baer and Christopher Baer; granddaughter, Lily Jane, all of Tallmadge; sisters, Ethyl Ann Lewis, Irene Brandt, both of Green, and Margaret (Richard) Krier of N. Canton; and brothers-in-law, James Perrine, Richard (Mary) Perrine, and Bernard Perrine.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Donaovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle) with Pastor David Brown and Reverend Debbie Rhinesmith officiating. Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at the funeral home.
