Evelyn H. (Hanning) Campbell, born in Akron, Ohio and graduated from Garfield High School. For almost 50 years she has been very active in the Order of the Eastern Star serving as Worthy Matron at Ellsworth Chapter #247 (Richfield) and Legacy Chapter #596 where she is a current member. She also participated on the Woman's Auxiliary Board. She loved sewing, crafting, and crocheting, making hats and booties for the babies at Akron Children's Hospital.
Evelyn, 85, of North Canton, (formerly of Richfield), passed away peacefully March 8, 2014.
Preceded in death by her son, Matthew; sisters, Edith Taylor and Lillian Czerwinski. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 63 years, Donald Campbell; son, Daniel (Terrie) of Tallmadge; daughter, Virginia Kruger of Stow and her grandchildren, Ryan, Samantha and Travis Campbell of Tallmadge and Deanna and Laura Kruger of Stow. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She will be truly missed by all who loved her.
Leaving a note in her wishes for her husband she wrote, "Thanks for a wonderful life, see you again, I love you"...Evelyn.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. NW in North Canton. Eastern Star services will be given prior to calling hours by members of Legacy Chapter. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Richfield Cemetery, Broadview Road next to her son Mathew. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Senior Independence Hospice, 1815 West Market Street, Akron, Ohio 44313.
