Tom was employed for over 60 years at the M.F. Murdock Company, which later became Murdock Industrial. He was the ultimate salesman, working up to his time of death. His company, family and St. Sebastian Church meant a great deal to him. Tom was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, Past Grand Knight of Council 547 and a charter member of the new council 14255 of St. Sebastian. He enjoyed bridge, baseball, and dearly loved his grandsons of which he was so proud.
Thomas was born to William and Helen Cochrun; and brothers William and Robert Cochrun.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Jeanne; children, Ann (Terry) Gorbach and Jeanne (Denis) Van Doros; grandsons, John Thomas and Matthew Terrance Gorbach; sister, Jude (David) Armour; brother-in-law, John (Carol) Starner; sister-in-law, Mildred and Nelda Cochrun and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday, August 23, 2007, 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 476 Mull Ave.
Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 Exchange St. on Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Sebastian Parish Foundations, 476 Mull Ave, Akron OH 44320.
