Robert "Bob" A. Anno
64, formerly of Bowerston, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City, N.C. He had been a resident at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Elizabeth City since Sept. 5, 2013. Born Nov. 30, 1948 in Dennison, Ohio, Bob was the youngest son of the late Cecil Anno and Margarette (Clark) Anno. He served his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970. He worked at Alsco in Sugarcreek for 15 years. Bob helped run People's Bakery in Canton and also was employed at Kimble Landfill in Dover before moving to North Carolina in 2005. Bob enjoyed being a resident of Renaissance Commons Senior Community in Elizabeth City, N.C. where he made many friends. He loved watching Ohio sports, especially the Browns and the Buckeyes, and was also a huge fan of the Beatles. Other favorite pastimes were crossword puzzles and fishing.
Bob is survived by siblings, Richard E. Anno of North Versailles, Pa., Shirley E. Davidson of Freeport, Ohio and Howard C. Anno and wife, Lois of Midvale. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Edwin H. Anno and Leroy C. Anno; and a brother-in-law, Earl Davidson. He was married to the late Betty L. (Young) Anno from 1972 to 1998. Bob is also survived by his two children, Tonya R. Vermillion and husband, Tate of Grandy, N.C. and Jason A. Anno of Bowerston, Ohio. Bob had three grandchildren that he loved very much, Alyson Elizabeth and Sophia Ann of Grandy, N.C. and David Robert of Bowerston.
Please join us as we celebrate his life with a Memorial Service officiated by David Fell which will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 at R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Come tell a story or just stop by from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Longview Cemetery in Bowerston with a military committal service.
