The funeral services for World War II veteran Robert H.F. Fleshman will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, in the Enid Maine Nazarene Church. His nephew, Rev. Roy Russell Fleshman, will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

Robert Franklin Fleshman was born in Okeene, OK Sept. 12, 1920 to Harry Franklin Fleshman and Alta Effie Clester.

In World War II he served as Army Private First Class in the 3677th Trucking Company as a truck driver with his tour of duty being mostly in the Pacific Theater. He married Henrietta Hiebert Fleshman in Kingfisher, OK on June 14, 1947 and celebrated in June 2007 their 60th wedding anniversary.

Along with farming, Robert worked at the Southard, OK gyp mill, was assistant manager in the Wheat Department of Okeene Milling Company; he worked with Freeman's Equipment; in the 1950's he owned cream routes delivering for Gold Spot Dairy; he drove for Midstate Trucking Company and retired from Hackney's, where he started as a driver then later worked in the shipping/loading department.

He attended First Church of God and then later Enid Maine Street Nazarene. He was an active member of the CB Coffee Club. He was also a honorary member of the WCTU.

He is survived by his beloved partner, Henrietta; two daughters, Carol Cantrell and Sharon Kalow; three grandsons, David Cantrell, Dustin Wood and Robbie Kalow; one great-grandson, Preston (his little Pistol Pete), all of Enid; two sisters, Blanch Serviss and Marie Roberts of Enid; two brothers, Jim of Enid and Gerald of Lamar, Colo.; one sister-in-law, Ruth Schaffler; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Raymond and Darline Hiebert of Sheldon, Mo., Jime an Opal Hiebert of Buckeye, Ark., and many nieces, nephewws, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
