Birth: Apr. 16, 1913
Oakland County
Michigan, USA
Death: Nov. 1, 1988
Michigan, USA

Frederick Richard Austin was the son of Frederick and Mabel Clara Austin, the youngest of 3 children. His mother died when he was 8 yrs old and he was raised by a very strict stepmother. He developed mental health issues as a teen ager. He did graduate from Northern High School in 1931. he was institutionalized in his early twenties for mental health issues. He lived his whole life in several state institutions-first in Ypsilanti State Hosp. Mi, then Northville; then discharged and placed in several group homes run by the state. His last 12 years were spent in Anchorage Convalescent Home on Gr. River?Schaeffer. He developed ulcers, one of which led to his death. Frederick died Nov 1,1988 and was cremated and buried in the family plot at Woodmere Cemetery in Southfield, Mi. Frederick would have been mainstreamed if he had been born in these times--he could have been a productive citizen with medication. A life wasted for no good reason. He was a very intelligent man.

Frederick, you are not forgotten--we were never able to meet you and try to help you--for that we are eternally sorry. May you rest in Peace with the Angels.
