Joey lived to make people laugh.

Joey was a traveling stand up comedien for several years.Settled down back home writing and selling cars.He was a lover of nature and the river. At the time of his death he was president of the Alabama Medicinal Plants Growers.
Married his VT at the age of 50 it was both their first marriage. Joey was allergic to cats and VT was owned by many cats. When they moved together he built them and many more to be rescued a cat house. He also took care of Piggy the cat who had health problems, we would have never believed he would one day be owned by a cat!
My brother always ordered dessert first, and at gatherings that was first on his plate he believed in the saying...EAT DESSERT FIRST! Joey taught all that knew him to do the same.
27 days after Bubba passed away his best friend since college died Bob Hasty They both wanted their ashes spread down the Tennessee river.
Joey loved music also and could be counted on to have his uke on hand to sing....This is his song he wrote for his VT... Valentine
Joey always went to eat lunch at school with Joanna and Zach when he was in town. After he settled back down here at home he would go on field trips with them when we could not take off work. All the kids wanted to sit by Uncle Joey.At family gatherings he always took all the kids walking on the land, up in the moutain,he wanted all to love our grandparents homeplace as we did.Often took them Snipe hunting:)
VT's nieces and nephews WERE his too,he spent time with them and was their friend and uncle.
Joey taught nephew Zach a very valuble lesson on gambling. They were blowing darts and Zach bet him all his GI Joe men he would beat him, well Zach lost and the next day Joey showed up and took them all in a big garbage bag.It broke that childs heart, after about six months he brought them back...Zach swore he would never ever bet again!

From Joey's friend on the Tennessee River.........
To Goey's Family:God bless you. I can only imagine your loss. This guy was full of life. I rode on the river many times with the "Knights Who Say Eeer." Whenever I mentioned them in conversation to other boarders, Goey was always the one they remembered and spoke of first. I love you, brotherman. I'll cherish all the photos. And I'll be so happy to see you on the other side, where the water is always glass, and there's no airplanes circling above.
