MARBLEHEAD - Robert Howard Crosby, 83, of 83 Humphrey St., died Thursday after a lengthy illness.
He worked for Gregory Reed Co. and later worked as a salesman for the Hill-Welch Furniture Co. of Lynn for many years before retiring in 1975.
Born in Haverhill, he was a 1923 graduate of Haverhill High School and moved to Swampscott in 1927. He was a Marblehead resident since 1945.
Mr. Crosby is survived by his wife, Constance (Welch) Crosby; two daughters, Patricia Ann Keiver and Pamela Jean Healey, both of Marblehead; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Nathan and Lennie (Chandler) Crosby and husband of the late Olive (Welch) Crosby.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Eustis & Cornell Funeral Home.
