Father: Soren Andersen (1852-1925), born Denmark.
Mother: Cecil Mary Christensen Andersen (1855-1928), born Denmark.

They came to America in May 1882, docking in New York. The three oldest of the ten children from this marriage were born in Denmark. They settled in the Shelby and Cass county vicinity in southwestern Iowa and were farmers.

Elmer was the youngest of the ten children. He has no middle name.

Marriage: (1) Della Elizabeth Rush (1906-1989), married 21 Sept. 1923, Osceola, Iowa. Two sons, Glenn Robert and Norman Eugene. They later divorced.
Marriage: (2) Lora Antoinette Hartman Wakefield (1895-1995), married 26 Nov. 1947, Colorado.

Elmer and Della lived in Osceola,Iowa where they lived on a farm and where the two sons were born. In 1936 they moved to Fort Collins, Colorado.
Elmer and his second wife "Nettie" lived in Denver, Colorado. Nettie had two children from her first marriage.

Elmer had worked for several years at the Ideal Cement Co. plant near Laporte. He was a member of the local Townsend Club. He had only been retired a short time when he had a heart attack and died at a Denver hospital.

Funeral services were held from Howard's Park Avenue Chapel in Denver.
