Gladys I. Bugbee, 99, of Erie, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, at Crestview Nursing Home, Bethany, Mo., where she had most recently been a resident.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16 at Gibson Funeral Home, Erie, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at the Erie Cemetery. Memorial may be made to the Hospice Advantage, 1210 S. Main St., Gallatin, Mo.
Born in rural Erie on Dec. 5, 1911, she attended Wheelock Grade School and graduated from Erie Community High School in 1928. She married Culver F. Bugbee on Dec. 29, 1929, and lived in the Erie and Fenton area. Gladys was a member of Eastern Star in Erie and a member of the Erie United Methodist Church. She loved to crochet most of her life and should be in the Crocheting Hall of Fame.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Sandy (Guthrie) Bugbee, Bethany, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Betty (Putt) Bugbee, Geneseo; grandsons, Stuart (Brenda) Bugbee and Trent (Dana) Bugbee; granddaughters Susan (Rick) Stearns and Tracy (Rod) Tharp; seven great-grandsons; and four great-granddaughters.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Culver; son, James; parents, Otto and Carrie Holland; and her brother, Chester.
