[Sally Bennett wife of Wm. J. 'Will' Rice

Cedar City Chronicle, Thursday, Jan 15, 1903
-Mrs. W.J. Rice Dead
Died at her home in this place Sunday night, the 11th, of consumption, Mrs. W.J. Rice, aged 48 years. Mrs. Rice had been confined to her bed only about six weeks when death came to her relief. She had every kindness and care that loving hands and medical skill could render her. But her disease was of that character which accepts nothing but the life of its victim.
Mrs. Rice was a good neighbor, an excellent wife and a devoted mother. She leaves a husband and five small children to mourn her loss. She was what was known to her neighbors and friends as a noble, good woman. The entire community heartily sympathizes with the bereaved husband and children, for their loss is indeed the greatest of all losses.
Appropriate funeral services were conducted at the residence Monday afternoon by Rev. W.M. Pope, the family's pastor. The remains were tenderly laid away in the Yount cemetery Tuesday morning.
