Helen Bell "Speedy" (Winberg) Edmundson married Charles "Charlie" Vogel Edmundson II. She was born, raised and died in her beloved Fairhope, and her marriage to Charlie was gifted with two children: Shirley Marie and Charles Wayne. She attended the Marietta Johnson School in Fairhope. During the depression, they traveled extensively looking for work, but returned to Fairhope at the outbreak of WWII where Charlie found work at the Alabama Dry Docks and Ship Building Company in Mobile. After the war they moved to Texas where they raised their children. Upon retirement they returned to Fairhope where Charlie personally built the "Octagon" house on River Park Road (Hwy 33) near the intersection of Hwy 32.
