Lucinda was born in Hancock, Georgia to Unknown Parris and Sarah Ward in 1827. She married first Simon Henry Nelson in 1845 who died during and/or as a result of the Civil War in 1864. Simon and Lucinda had eight children: Fannie, Nancy Ann (Anne Marie), Simuel, Thomas J., Eliza Jane (Caroline), Sarah Margaret, Simon Henry Jr. and Kathleen "Kitty" Nelson. Lucinda married second Moses Hall in 1866. Lucinda and Moses had three children: Ella Rebecca, William Hiram & Laura.
