Services for Forrest M. Baker, 91, Kewanna, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Harrison-Metzger & Rans FuneralHome, 123 E.
Main SL, Kewanna. He passed away at 12:55 p.m. Thursday, Oct 29, 2009, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Winamac.
Born on May 30, 1918, in Lucerne, he was the son of the late Earl and Bessie Murray Baker. On Nov. 11, 1938, he was married to Elnora W. Yoder, she survives. He was a 1936 graduate of Royal Center High School. Mr. Baker was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Kewanna United Methodist Church, a former member of Rojral Center Order of Eastern Star, Royal Center and Kewanna Masonic lodges. Mr. Baker loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed traveling, canoeing, helping friends and he especially enjoyed their time living at Lake Bruce.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Eldora W. Baker, son, Bruce M. Baker and his wife, Denise, and daughter, Karen I. Good and her husband, Joe, all of Kewanna; brother, Dale Baker and his wife, Paula, Royal Center; and sister, Helen Bonnell, Star City. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Kelly Smith (Mark), Jeffrey J. Good (Tonya), Ryan Baker (Leslie), Daniel Baker (Andrea); eight great-grandchildren, Lindsey Smith, Kara Smith, Zachary Smith, Sami Good, Jeffrey J. Good, Tosha Nice, Allie Nice and Devin Good; and one great-great grandson, Shayne Good. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Thelma McVay.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Steven McPeek and Pastor David Sommers will officiate at the service and burial will be in Citizens lOOF Cemetery, Kewanna.
