Bennett:
Joseph Emmett Bennett, age 78 of Daphne, AL, passed away n Wednesday, August 7, 2013 in Fairhope, ?AL. He was born on April 3, 1935 in Corpus Christi, TX to his parents, Emmett and Ella Bennett. Joe was the oldest of four children. He married Pat Aikens Bennett in Mobile, AL in 1968. They had two children. He served n the United States Air Force for 7 years; A veteran of the Vietnam Era, e earned the AFOULA and AFLSA awards. He was a long time resident of Daphne, AL for 10 years. He was employed by Ingalls Shipbuilding for 31 years and later the CDI Marine as an Engineer for 3 years. Joe was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Pascagoula, MS until he relocated and became a member of the Jubilee Baptist Church of Daphne, AL. He enjoyed telling his life stories to his grandchildren, being a husband, father and grandfather. He also loved taking pictures and spending time in the mountains. Joe will be remembered by his loving wife Pat Bennett and their children: David Bennett and Brad (Terri) Hare: : two brothers, two grandchildren , Hayes and Haley Hare: two brothers , Steve (Connie) and Gordon (Martha Jo) Bennett, many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Gladys Baker.
Services at 10:30 am in the chapel of the Pine Crest Funeral Home located at 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL. Burial will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project in Joe's name
