Jacob Adams, aged 20 years, of Ephrata, was gunning on Saturday afternoon near Steinmetz's meeting house, and while awaiting his companions stood with the stock of his gun resting on the ground and the hammer raised. The gun was accidentally discharged, the entire load striking his face, tearing off his chin and the greater part of his face. He lived only a few minutes. Young Adams was born and raised at Millport, Warwick township. His father, Frederick Adams, died about two years ago when he removed with his mother to Ephrata, where he worked at cigar-making.
