Nathalie Z. Aland was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on March 6, 1909. She grew up on the Zitlau homestead in Swan Valley, Idaho. Nathalie resided in Idaho Falls and Boise before moving to Crescent City, Calif in 1999.
She learned to recognized the wildflowers and herbs, which developed into a passion for gardening. Dressmaking, knitting, quilting or refinishing furniture - no task was too challenging for Nathalie. She was an active member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and the Auxiliary of World War I Veterans.
She passed away Feb 13, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Leland Aland, son, Clyde D. Thomason; sisters, Olga Nickerson and Lydia Lange; and brother Harry Zitlau.
She is survived by daughters and their spouses Donna & Jay; Irene & Eddie; a son and wife, James & Suzanne; stepdaughter Hazel; sister, Lena; sister-in-law, Jennie; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. Family Tribute
