The many friends of Douglas Bliven and family were greatly shocked and grieved to hear of the sudden death of the former which occured Wednesday afternoon of last week at 4:15 o'clock at his home in this city.
Mr. Bliven's death followed complications resulting from a fall June 16th, whil at his duties at North American Creameries, Inc., with which concern he had been associated for the past 25 years. He had apparently been in the best of health, being in their continued service all that time, where he had made a host of friends.

In less than a year following the birth of this son, he was bereft of his wife, and in 1883 he came to Verdi, Minn. where Ada Harris became his wife on Dec. 20th. To this union were born Cora, Mrs. william Cassady of this village who passed away two years ago, Hattie, Mrs. Walter Meyer of Paynesville, Forest J. Bliven of Hawick, Chester C. and Oscar H. Bliven of Paynesville, Cecil, Mrs. R. E. Coffey of Des Moines, Iowa and Myrtle, Mrs. Clifford Hurd of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, all of whom were present for the last rites which were held Friday, July 11th, at the residence at two o'clock and at 2:30 at the Methodist Episcopal Church with Rev. George C. Fenscke officiating.
The pallbearers attending were Chester Haines, Lewis Morris, Ezra Palmer, Page Blaisdell, Virgil Rexford and Wm. Lind.
The late Mr. Bliven has been a residen of this village for the past 41 years, and his remains were laid to rest at the local cemetery. Out-of-town relatives and friends herer for the fruneral were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dittes of Beardsley, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Harris of Monticello and Mr. and Mrs. Smith of Litchfield.
Though a quiet and unassuming manner, the deseased, through his perseverance ans sincerity won many warm friends who will greatly miss him. Deep sympathy is extended to the Bliven family in their breavement.
