Catharine was the only daughter born to Wm. Baker and his second wife Magdaline Greenwood. She remained unmarried and lived at the old homestead until her death in 1897. When her father died in the early 1850s his will stipulated that she recieve a bedstead and bedding, her chairs, a cow and $1600 to be paid in four yearly installments after the death of her mother, who had inherited the whole of her husband's estate. Her brother Joseph inherited the estate after his mother's death and Catharine lived with his family at the farm.
