Mrs. T.K. Johnson was taken by death Wednesday afternoon at four o'clock at her home in this city. The end came after a long illness from Bright's Disease with attendant complications.
The passing of this loved lady brought sorrow to many who respected her for her life of kindness, and her cheerful bravery during her illness. The funeral was held at the Christian Church Thursday afternoon, and burial was made in the local cemetery. Rev. Petelle, assisted by Rev. Oliver, pronounced the sad rites.
Florence Caroline Miller was born in Wayne County, Iowa, March 10, 1866, she being 58 years and 23 days of age at the time of her death. She was married in Wayne County in 1882 to T.K. Johnson where........ ( Note: An unidentified person whited out a word and typed "three" over it--JWJ) ......of their six children were born.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnson moved to Lower Valley in 1905 where they resided until four years ago when they moved to Wallowa. For over a year Mr. Johnson has been seeking to find health for his wife, having returned last fall from California on that quest.
She has been a faithful member of the Christian Church for 35 years.
The deceased is survived by her husband; five children: Laura, T. G., C.I., B.D., and Jasper Johnson; by a sister, Mrs. I.M. Young of Milton; and by twenty-three grandchildren.
