Aylmer Bright (A.B.) Danner was born in Milan, Gibson County, Tennessee. He was the son of Dr. Leonidas Getzen Danner and Margaret Susan (nee: Reeves) Danner.
A.B. Danner was married to Violet Elizabeth Durley and they had 5 children together, namely: Elizabeth Boyd, "Bubba", Danner-Ibbotson (1901-1992), Gladys Marie, "Tiree", Danner-Agar (1902-1992), Margaret Susan, "Tady", Danner-Brichler (1905-1992), William Harold, "Jack", Danner (1908-1950), and Thomas Gilchrist, "Gil", Danner (1912-1977)
A.B. worked for the G. M. & O. railroad and was transferred from Tennessee to Murphysboro, Illinois in about 1918 where the railroad had a Round Table for railroad engines to be turned around and head in the opposite direction. All of that rail head was wiped out in the 1925 Tri-State Tornado that leveled much of Murphysboro. Murphysboro's rail head was not rebuilt following that disaster.
A.B. built his own home out of the lumber from old railroad box cars. His house was located west of Murphysboro on Green Lane, in what at the time was called "Dannerville".
A.B. was my, (William McIntyre Danner), paternal grandfather.
