Death of William C. Bortles
William C. Bortles, 68, assessor of Hayfield Township and well known McGuffintown resident, died at his home suddenly, following a heart attack, Monday afternoon.
He is survived by his widow Etta L. Bortles; a daughter Mrs. Lyral Shull of Detroit; a son, Russell of Linesville; and two grandsons, Carlyle and Clifton Bortles.
Friends may call at the residence until 11 a.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at the Hunter Funeral Home, Saegertown, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be at Greendale Cemetery.

Mr. Bortles was in the meat and grocery business while a resident of Albion and Linesville.

Edward Johnson, R. S. Copeland, John and George Wilson, Roy Mercier, and Elmer Daugherty served as bearers.
