Nancy E. Bensley, 84, of Bushkill, died early Friday morning, November 15, while under hospice care in her home. She was the wife of Walter P. Bensley with whom she shared 62 years of marriage on April 25, 2013.

Born November 1, 1929 in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Elsie (Cannaby) Rouzer and was a lifetime resident of Monroe and Pike counties.

Nancy worked as a bookkeeper for Briscoe Mt. Woodcrafters and Pocono Mt. Woodcrafters.

She was also very active in the community, having volunteered with the Girl Scouts; was a past-president of the Bushkill Garden Club; member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #99; past-president of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #514; member of the Order of Amaranth Dorothy Lim Memorial Court #110; and a member of the East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church. Nancy also was a homemaker and loved to bake.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Sally J. Bensley of East Stroudsburg and Amy S. Riben and husband Max of Bushkill; two adopted daughters and caregiver Sarah E. Greear of Dingmans Ferry and Patricia Weidman of East Stroudsburg; a sister, Dolores Dickison of Bushkill; a brother, Richard Rouzer of Marshalls Creek; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing from 4:00 to 7:00PM Monday, November 18, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The funeral service will begin at 11:00AM Tuesday, November 19, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Delaware Cemetery in Dingmans Ferry.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial remembrances be made to the Stroudsburg Lions Club or Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, 361 Cherry Drive, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
