Obituary from Adams County Free Press:
Ethel Mae Polson, daughter of Albert and Letitia Sears, was born in La Harpe, Ill, January 17, 1887, and passed into her heavenly home at 11:15 p.m. September 24, 1952, at the age of 65 years, 8 months and 7 days.
When she was a small child her parents moved to Adams county, Iowa, locating in the Mt. Zion neighborhood, where much of her life was spent. From early girlhood she was organist of the Mt. Zion church and in later years was active in her church in Prescott.
On April 10, 1904, she was united in marriage to J. W. Polson, who passed away January 18, 1947. To this union one son was born, Forest J. Polson of Prescott, Iowa.
Preceding her in death were her parents, and three brothers, Will, John and Roy. Once brother, Frank M. Sears, survives, also her son, Forest, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild, all of Prescott, beside nieces and nephews.
To know her was to love her and her friendly smile and cheerful manner will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept 26, 1952 in the Methodist church in Prescott, conducted by Rev. C.W. Reisinger and Rev. J.A.E. Cunningham. Pall bearers were Rex Maxedon, C.M.
