Born in Barron on May 5, 1921, Winnifred was the daughter of the late Lester Laurence and Florence Bailey Arnold. She married William Aitken on Jan. 9, 1946, in Rib Lake. He preceded her in death on May 22, 2002.
Winnifred graduated from Barron High School and then attended business college. She had worked with her husband in the woods logging. Winnifred enjoyed camping, fishing, swimming, going on picnics, spending time at the Prairie Lake cabin and going to church activities. She was now attending Park City Baptist Church in Merrill.
Survivors include her brother Laurence (Arlis) Arnold, New Lisbon; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and niece Gayle (Jim) Holte, Elk Mound. She was preceded in death by her husband William and son John.
Funeral services were Tuesday January 23rd, 2007, The Rev. Freddy McMillan officiated. Burial was in Merrill Memorial Park.
