*Mr. John Addy, an old resident of Monroe, died at his residence last Sunday morning at the advanced age of 75 and a half years. Mr. Addy was a native of Ireland. He came to Monroe upwards of 42 years ago, and worked on the old Court House, as a carpenter and joiner, when it was being built in 1837. (MC, Jan. 2, 1880)
