Oscar W. Corey enlisted as a Private in Bainbridge at the age of 19 on 13 August 1862, to serve three years He mustered in with Company H, 114th New York Volunteers. He was wounded in action 19 October 1864 at Cedar Creek, Virginia and later died of his wounds on 11 November 1864 at the Patterson Park General Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
