Ruth was the daughter of Daniel McKinnon and his 1st wife Ruth. Although some books have her birth in Smith Twp, Washington Co., PA. She was more likely born in Fredericks Co., MD where her father was a Minister for the Church of England. Since her husband John Bevington was also from MD I believe they were married there before they moved to Smith Twp., Washington Co., PA. They were married abt 1785.
John took out a patent Dec. 3, 1787 for "Mill Town" which later became Bavington Twp.
