Maurice James Barry, beloved husband, father, grandfather, passed away of Feb. 15, 1994, at Deaconess Medical Center with his wife, son and grandson by his side.
He was born February 19, 1912, in Deadwood, S.D., the son of Frank and Hilder Barry. He grew up in Livingston where he enjoyed fishing and other outdoor activities. After graduating from the University of Montana with a degree in business, Maurice went to work for Midland Bank. After a career of 40 years in banking, he retired as an assistant vice-president. Maurice and Evelyn enjoyed traveling and were able to see much of the world. They also enjoyed bridge, golf and dancing, He was an active member of the Elks for 58 years and a lifetime member of the Catholic Church.
Maurice, a loving family man, is survived by his wife of 52 years, Evelyn; three children Gilbert Barry of Santa Barbara Calif. Joan Borberg of Portland, Ore, and Tom Barry of Billings; eight grandchildren; and his brother, John Barry of Belgrade. He was preceded in death by his older brother Bill.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at St. Patrick's Co-Cathedral. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Michelotti, Sawyers & Nordquist Mortuary in charge. Memorials may be sent to St. Patrick's Co-Cathedral, the American Cancer Society, MT Division Inc. P.O. Box 1080, Billings, MT 59103-1080; or the Elks Memorial Fund, Box 20302, Billings, MT 59104.
