Birth: May, 1796
Death: Sep. 11, 1849
Andover
Allegany County
New York, USA

Weighty was the daughter of John C. Curtis and Chloe Shipman. She was probably born in Oneida County, New York; but there is a lesser possibility of Canada too. She married George Rosebush (originally DeRosier)most likely in Hastings County, Ontario, Canada, on Feb. 15, 1815 according to family records.
They had ten children: Elizabeth, Charlotte, Hannah Ann, George DeSette, Chloe Ann, William, Amarilla, Henrietta, Oliver Fraser, and Emily Jane. Rosebush documents claim that the family left Canada around 1837-38 in order for George and sons to avoid conscription in the MacKenzie Rebellion. Married daughters Charlotte and Hannah Ann remained behind, and the seven living children, along with Weighty's elderly parents, came to New York State. George died later on a visit to Canada in 1851 and is buried somewhere in Ontario.
