MRS. LEE ADAMS CALLED FRIDAY AT THE AGE OF 87. FUNERAL SUNDAY
Mrs. Lee Adams, for many year a well known citizen of Lexington, passed away at her home in this city at 1:45 p. m. Friday, Aug. 27, 1937, following a stroke of paralysis Thursday morning.
Mrs. Adams was born June 21, 1850, daughter of Benjamin and Margaret Duncan of Mercer county, Pennsylvania. She was married to Lee Adams of Lexington, Jan. 24, 1870.
Surviving are four children: Ora, Pekin; Harvey, Lexington; Ray, Detroit, MI.; Mrs. Mable Eastwood, Towanda. Five grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church at 3 p. m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. T. Reighton Jones, pastor of the M. E. church, of which Mrs. Adams was a member. Mrs. W. A. McCully and Mrs. Harold Brown sang accompanied by Mrs. George Malcom.
Four grandsons of Mrs. Adams and two young friends acted as pall bearers. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery.
