Samuel H. Crawford, 71, Hanover, well known retired auctioneer who cried sales in Hanover and the surrounding territory for the past 51 years, died Tuesday night in Hanover General Hospital where he had been admitted as a patient a few minutes earlier. He had been in ill health for 2 years. Mr. Crawford and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday. Surviving also are three children, Mrs. Earl Garver, Hanover; John E. Crawford, Hanover, and Miss Mary E. Crawford, at home; 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two sisters, Mrs. Florence Dietz, and Mrs. Emma Zinn, and one brother, C.R. Crawford, Hanover. The Crawford family spent the summer months at their respective homes at East Berlin. Both Mrs. Earl Garver and John Crawford had built cottages along the Conewago creek.
