Aunt Lenda' Brister, one of the purest and sweetest characters in Christendom, fell asleep in Jesus Saturday morning, February 14th, about 1 o'clock, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. T. Morgan.
'Aunt Lenda," as she was familiarly known, was 94 years and 7 days old. She was the mother of 11 children, 6 of whom survive her.
Besides 6 children she leaves 58 grandchildren and 79 great-grandchildren and hosts of friends and relatives to mourn her going.
Mrs. Brister was baptized into the fellowship of Mt. Moriah Baptist church 71 years ago and possibly was the last to be called, of the chartered members of Pleasant Hill church, which was organized 58 years ago, of which she was a member at her death.
Her life was one consistent and consecrated to loving service in her home, where she, with her children, have been most highly respected and honored.
She ministered to her own as only a mother knows
how, and in the same gentle manner she ministered to every one where need was seen.
She was never too weary to help and, in fact, wherever there was trouble or need in the neighborhood,
"Aunt Lenda' was always there, and by her kind words and gentle deeds brought comfort and relief.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. R. Kyzar at the home of her son, J. M. Brister, Monday, at 11
o'clock, and the tired body laid to rest in the family burying ground.
