Mary "Alice" Beardall

Alice Beardall, 84, passed away July 14, 2012. Alice fought a fierce battle over the last several months to regain her health. She had a lot left to accomplish; getting back to her garden, driving to town, shopping and going on the Provo senior center trips.

Alice was born Nov. 2, 1927 in Du Quoin, IL to Louis Westerwelle and Nina Ireland Westerwelle. She married J Demiles Beardall, July 1, 1948. Alice spent most of her childhood on a farm and often re-told fond memories of her up-bringing. Her family moved west when Alice was a teenager and she has resided in Utah since. Alice worked at Hill Air Force Base during WWII and was proud to support her country. She retired from DE Enterprises at the age of 72. Alice was fiercely independent and valued a hard days' work. She had a zest for life, and until the last several years, travelled extensively with family and friends.

The family takes comfort in knowing that Alice is being reunited in Heaven with those she lost. She was preceded in death by husband, J Demiles; son Rayil Nathan Beardall; 1 brother and 1 sister, as well as her special canine companion, Buddy. She is survived by one son, one daughter, ; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters and 1 brother.

At Alice's request, a graveside service will be held Thursday, July 19, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, Provo. Family and friends are welcome to join the family and share special memories of Alice. She requested that those in attendance come as they are just as long as they come (in blue jeans or evening gowns).

The family would like to thank Alice's special neighbor Linda – we could not have gotten through the last several months without you. We would also like to thank the staff at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center for their love and care.

We love you Mom/Grandma and don't worry – we'll be sure to water your tomato!
