Wife to William Billing of Sweden. 1880 US Federal census (Brooklyn) lists the couple as William and Anna BELING. 1870 US Federal census (New York Ward 17 District 27) lists them as Wm and Ann Billing. William was a store clerk. Her death certificate says both her parents were born in Germany. The cause of death was pneumonia. Her last residence and place of death was 1745 Dean Street, Brooklyn, New York. It states that she resided in the United States for 20 years (abt 1866) and 14 years in NYC. Although she is found in the 1870 census, so she actually resided in NYC for at least 16 years. She was married at the time of her death.
Possible marriage record for them found in the Manhattan Bride and Groom Index: Anna House and William Billing, 31 March 1869, Manhattan, certificate # 1927. After viewing the certificate, I believe the name House may be incorrect. It's hard to decipher.

Frederick Billing married Lauretta Tustin and Adolph's son August J. Rust was the best man. The Rusts' neighbor Mrs. Charles H. Bantje who is mentioned as attending the wedding was a close family friend and neighbor in Brooklyn and is related to Frederick Billing. Family story says Fred was Mrs. Bantje's son from a prior marriage. In 1905 Brooklyn census you can find Charles H. Bantze (34), wife Eliza (40) and son Fred A. Billing (17).

She was not listed on the original Rust headstone in this plot that was replaced in 2012. The family decided to include this unknown person in the inscription on the new headstone, so she would be remembered.
