Junior moved to this area with his parents as a child and had lived here for the past 79 years. After high school and two years in the U. S. Army, Junior farmed in this area for the past 60 years. He was united in marriage to Doris D. Webb May 8, 1948 at Weatherford, OK and to this union two daughters were born.
He was an active memer of the Northeast church of Christ in Sentinel, OK.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Virginia Nelson.
Survivors include his wife, Doris, of the home west of Dill City, OK; daughters, Janet Page and husband, Dick, of Alexandria, VA and Debbie VanVranken and husband, Ron, of Texline, TX; two sisters, Dovie Ringo of Dill City and Emma Seaman of Greeley, CO; one brother, Jimmie Blanton of Otis Orchard, WA; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Junior Blanton were held Monday, August 15, 2005 at the Northeast church of Christ in Sentinel with John Werhan officiating. Interment, under the direction of McClure Funeral Home, was held in the South Burns Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers were his grandchildren; Alan Page, Jennifer Page, Amy VanVranken, Jenny VanVranken,Chris Page and Ty VanVranken.
