Edna Ann Pfeifer was born August 21, 1908 on a ranch near Inez, Wyoming; the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andreas Pfeifer. They moved to Douglas when she was four years old and she attended schools in Douglas.
In 1925, she married Walter L. Alexander, Sr. They resided on the John T. Williams Sheep and Cattle Co. where he was foreman. Later they started in the ranching business on their own, living on the Lou Cook ranch on Cow Creek. Then in the fall of 1940 they moved to the LaBonte community purchasing the Archie Picklesimer ranch, where she resided until 1975 when she and her husband retired and moved to Douglas residing at 231 No. 5th Street. They resided there until their tragic accident September 22, 1976 killing both her and her husband.
To this union were born two sons, Walter L. Alexander, Jr. and Donald A. "Doc" Alexander; and one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Ann Forgey; all of Douglas.
Being of Catholic faith she was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society. Among her other interests were the Garden Club of Douglas, Wyoming Pioneer Association, WY Cowbelles, LaBonte Homemakers and Farm Bureau.
Also surviving are six grandsons and one granddaughter; her mother, Mrs. Anna Pfeifer Hunter, of Douglas; three sisters Mrs. Clara Hamilton, Douglas; Mrs. Paul Williams, Shawnee; Mrs. Helen Brock, Ely, Nev.; and several nieces and nephews.
