BEULAH - Mr. Franklin Delano Adamson, 79, of Beulah (Lake Harding Community), died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012 at his family's residence in Madison, Ala.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 30 at 10 a.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Jim Dykes officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Brundidge, Ala. at 1 p.m. CDT.
Franklin loved his home on Lake Harding, his family and friends, his country and Auburn football.
Mr. Adamson was a bachelor and is survived by his sister-in-law, Gladys Adamson, widow of O.C. Adamson; three nephews, Anthony Adamson and wife, Diana, of Madison, Steve Adamson of Orange County, Calif., and David Adamson and wife, Liz, of Freeport, Fla.; two nieces, Deborah (Adamson) Massey and husband, John, of O'Fallon, Ill., and Lisa (Adamson) Holloway of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Earl and Abby Lou (Windham) Adamson, his three brothers, Jown Rowe Adamson, Oscar Charles "O.C." Adamson and Earl Adamson Jr.
Mr. Adamson was born May 9, 1933 in Brundidge, Ala. He was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Air Force in the Vietnam War, then retiring Dec. 31, 1974.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Aug. 30 from 9 until 10 a.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
The family respectfully declines the honor of flowers and asks that memorials be made to one's favorite charity in his memory.
Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home of Valley is handling arrangements.
