Jesse Franklin "Jack" Drum
Birth: Dec. 18, 1903
Drums Crossroads
Catawba County
North Carolina, USA
Death: Nov. 13, 1957
Long Beach
Los Angeles County
California, USA

Jack F. Drum was born in North Carolina and went west to "seek his fortune". He worked for Conrad Hilton as the hotelier was building his worldwide hotel business, starting in the early 1930s in Texas. When the US entered WWII, Jack served in the Navy as a SeaBee, stationed at Clark Field, Luzon, the Philippines. After the war he went back to work for Hilton Corporation, and then worked outside of the company for several years on various management projects for Mr. Hilton and other investors.
Jack married Mary Hennessey in 1935, and they travelled together as new hotels were purchased or opened, setting up bookkeeping, banquet, and houskeeping departments. Jack and Mary had a son, Conrad Allen Drum, in 1953. After years of traveling the country for business, the Drums settled in the Los Angeles area.
At the time of his death, Jack, Mary, and Conrad lived in Long Beach, CA and Jack was employed as the auditor for the rapidly growing Balboa Bay Club at Newport Beach.
