George W. Henry
George W. Henry, 74, died Friday at St. Francis Hospital Center in Beech Grove. He was a resident of Beech Grove.
He was born June 21, 1921, in Thorntown. His parents were George A. and Oressa (Morganson) Henry. He was married to Mildred E. (Brummett) Henry on Sept. 8, 1945. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Patricia R. King of Greenwood, and Rebecca Rowland of Beech Grove; one brother, Eugene Henry of Greenwood; one sister, Rose Need of Nashville, and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith E. Henry.
He worked as a bench jeweler for Herff-Jones for 42 years, retiring in 1983.
He was a member of Larrabee Lodge No. 131 F&AM of Stilesville.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Purple Heart.
The Rev. Carol Fritz conducted a funeral service Sunday at G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
