Elizabeth Adamson, born Elizabeth Dodgson in England in October 1792. She was baptized at Great Edstone parish in the North Riding of Yorkshire on 14th October 1792. Her parents were John and Mary Dodgson.
She married Christopher Lowther in 1814, but he passed away in 1816.
Elizabeth married George Adamson in Ellerburn parish, Yorkshire North Riding on 28 Nov 1825. She had 3 children, but only 2 survived infancy, George and Ann. After her husband George's death in 1848, Elizabeth and her 2 children emigrated to the US in 1851. They sailed on the ship Boadicea, arriving in New York on 15 Apr 1851.
They initially stopped in Circleville, Ohio before continuing westward. Son George settled in Greene County, Indiana and Elizabeth was present there for the 1860 Census. Later, when daughter Ann Wardell and her husband Thomas Wardell moved to Kansas, Elizabeth went on with them and she is found on the 1870 census in Kansas, where she remained until her death.
She is buried at the Wardell Cemetery, located on land that used to be owned by her son-in-law Thomas Wardell. There is a shared marker for Elizabeth, Thomas and Ann.
