Stone illegible except for name 'Chittenden"
(Could this be the grave of Capt. Isaac Chittenden? Refer to notes under 'Mary (Turner) Chittenden', who is interred next to this stone. If so, he predeceased her as she is listed as widowed at the time of her death. As he would have been buried here first, presumably he died in the same small pox epidemic as Mary did, being that he too is buried outside the cemetery walls.--sleuth2)
