Dr. Peleg Ford, b.1/19/1781, was a son of Nathaniel Ford and his first wife and cousin, Abigail (Ford). Peleg married Mercy (James) of Scituate on Oct.1,1801 in Scituate. They resided in the large white Colonial across from Greenbush Pond; as of 2012 it is still standing at the corner of Cornet Stetson Road and Route 3A in Greenbush. Scituate records state he was in practice about 7 years, from 1805-1812.

Dr. Peleg Ford and Mercy (James) had children:

(NOTE: Peleg and Mercy's son, Peleg Thomas Ford, b.1809, d.1885, Scituate. In 1837 in Scituate he married Mary Ann (Hatch). They resided in Hingham and later in Scituate in his parent's white Colonial. This Peleg and Mary had children including a son: Peleg Thomas Ford, Jr., b.1840 in Scituate, who married Hannah "Annie" (Turner), daughter of Frank and Francis Turner of Scituate; they resided in Charlestown and Boston, MA.)

His grandparents were Nathaniel Ford, Sr. and Eunice (Rogers). Nathaniel Ford, Sr., b.3/20/1731, Marshfield, Plymouth Cty., MA - d.12/8/1818, Readfield, Kennebec Cty., ME, FAG#73157825; Eunice (Rogers), b.1739, Boxford, MA, d.1837, Marshfield, MA, FAG#73158015, daughter of Timothy Rogers and Lydia (Hatch) of Marshfield, MA.

They had children: Peleg, Nathaniel, Jr., Charles, James, Eunice, Elsie, Lydia, Phebe and John.

Their son, Nathaniel Ford, Jr., b.1759, Marshfield, MA, d.1834, Kents Hill, Readfield, Kennebec Co., ME., 1st m: cousin Abigail (Ford), b.8/17/1762, Marshfield, MA - d.1/19/1782, Marshfield, MA., at age 19. They had a son: Peleg Ford, the subject of this memorial.

(NOTE: Peleg was named after his uncle Peleg, as well as his great grandfather, Peleg Ford, b.1690, Northborough, MA, (FAG#73134720), who married Alice (Warren) in Plymouth, MA, (FAG#47447010), and had children, including a son, Nathaniel Ford, Sr.)

In 1783 in Duxbury, MA Nathaniel Ford, Jr. 2nd m: Lydia (Simons/Simmons), b.1756, Marshfield, MA, d.1838, Kents Hill, Readfield, Kennebec Co., ME. About 1790 they moved their family to Readfield, Kennebec Co., ME, and resided near his parents. Both buried at Kents Hill Cemetery, Kents Hill, Readfield, MA (FAG#71863023/#711863157).
