George Allen passed away on December 18, 2011 after a gallant battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara. Also surviving are his children Elizabeth Racicot (Victor), Bob Allen (Judy), Terry Durrant (Jim) and Jim Allen (Debbie); by his step-children Colleen Dunaway (Larry), Bud Lush (Laurie) and Mike Smith (Linda). He was the grandfather of 11 and great-grandfather of 20. George also leaves his sister Glennette Noreen and nieces Judy Gonzalez (Bob) and Beth Hamilton.

George was an avid fisherman and hunter. He is a past member of the Go-Fer-Kix RV Club and personal 49er Group. He is a member of Petaluma Elks Lodge, the Petaluma Moose and the Petaluma SIR Branch 147.

He served 4 years in the US Navy during World War II and retired as a chief in the Naval Reserve.

George lived in Idaho for many years. When he returned to California, he went to work for the City of Novato and retired as a Parks Supervisor.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Petaluma Elks Lodge, 2105 S. McDowell Blvd. Ext. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952. Family assisted by PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, Petaluma.
