Davenport - Graveside services for Glenn W. Bankson, Davenport, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. The U.S. Naval Reserves and Moline American Legion Post 246 will conduct military services at the burial. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.

Mr. Bankson died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport.

He retired in 1989 as a terminal manager at Nussbaum Trucking Inc.

Glenn William Bankson was born Dec. 29, 1925, in Davenport, to William Tell and Sarah (Phillips) Bankson Jr. He married Marilyn Jewel Holdt on April 20, 1946, in Davenport. She preceded him in death Aug. 20, 2000.

Glenn was a Navy veteran during World War II, serving in the South Pacific.

He enjoyed traveling, watching sports, dancing and reading. Memorials may be made to the family.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and George Allen, Davenport, and Nancy and Jim Cirivello, Moline; grandchildren and their spouses, Mindy and Ted Frahm and Bill Allen, both of Davenport, and Brad and Serena Allen, Scottsdale, Ariz.; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Jeanette, Phoenix; and his sister-in-law and her husband, Ardis and Glen Viviani, Davenport.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters. May they rest in peace.
