Miss Mary Crook
Mary Crook, daughter of Peter and Margaret Crook, was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., November 26, 1852. She moved to Dodgeville with her parents in October 1855 settling upon a farm where she spent the remainder of her life, except for three years which she spent in the city of Dodgeville.
Miss Crook passed away at the home of her brother, Robert June 20, 1929, at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 24 days. She leaves to mourn her passing two brothers, John of Meadow Grove, Neb., and Robert at home. Three brothers, Richard, Peter, and Thomas, and one sister, Mrs. Margaret A. Penberthy having preceded her in death. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews located in various states.
Funeral services were held from the home Saturday afternoon with Rev. J.H. Magee P.M. church, Ridgway, officiating. Burial was made in East Side cemetery.
